Hi Everyone,

This is a call to action newsletter. Please show up and speak or send your email regarding this matter.

When: Wednesday, September 16, 2015 @ 7:00 PM
Where: City Hall, Council Chambers, 3031 Torrance Bl., Torrance
What: Ask for denial of the PCR15-00003 Petition of Sunny and Steven Sohn
Email: RPoirieva@torranceca.gov
If emailing, address to Honorable Planning Commissioners C/O RPoirieva (City Clerk)

Background:
Irving J. Gill is the designer of the Bridge in Torrance, the Depot, several business buildings in downtown Old Torrance a 10 houses (five on Gramercy and five on Andreo). None remain on Andreo. On Gramercy there are three remaining: one has been so remodeled that is not recognizable, one has been altered greatly, and only the third looks as Irving J. Gill designed it; it is 1904 Gramercy Avenue.
The property sold last year and now Sunny and Steven Sohn want to tear it down and replace it with new construction of two units (condos) AND they are asking to exceed the .50 floor area ratio (FAR), which was established on Gramercy and Andreo to prevent over building on these small, narrow lots.
This is part of your history and community culture. We cannot oppose this alone. We need your emails and your physical presence at the meeting, as well as your comments orally to the commissioners.
